Birth Place- Highland Park, Illinois
Life and Career- She is an American actress, Writer, Comedian and well known voice actress. She is best recognized for her four works: “MADtv”, “American Dad”, “The Simpsons” and “Family Guy”. Her parents are mental health professionals in north of the city of Chicago. She has been raised in the Jewish family with roots in Germany, Hungary, Mangolia, Angola, Poland and Russia. She has studied in San Francisco State University in San Francisco. After that she took job in an ad agency and wrote print ads for Barbie.
Later she joined improve classes in ACME Comedy Theater. there she met her future husband and writing partner Jackson Douglas. Douglas proposed her during the taping of MADtv skit and they got married in 1999. On September 8, 2008 she has given birth to a son.
She and Douglas have together worked on the animated series “Casper” and “Pinky and the Brain”. After this Alex became a full time writer. She has also worked on the popular TV show “Power Rangers: Zeo”. It was in 1997, that she became the part of comedy show MADtv and played Miss Swan there. She has played numerous characters alongside Will Sasso until she left the show in 2002. Their chemistry on the show was commendable.
“Robot Chicken” producer Seth Green has also made guest appearances on the show and at that time Borstein played his mother Mama Brightling. She is also the voice for Lois Griffin at popular animation series “Family Guy”. Due to this voice role she got voice roles in “Robot Chicken”.
She has also made three guest appearances on “Drawn Together” anime. She also secured the role of Sookie St. James in “Gilmore Girls”. Her film roles include “The Lizzie McGuire Movie” as a principal and as an employee at CBS News in “Good Night, and Good Luck”. Besides this she has appeared in movie “Kicking and Screaming” and in pilot episode of series “The Thick of It” as a press secretary.
